Project listed 1° in the provincial plan announcement, concerning the operations in the province of Rimini for Natural Shopping Centres.

The redevelopment project of Piazza Matteotti area is the main heart of the city: it is an important piece on which the urban redevelopment project of the entire Natural Shopping Centre of Bellaria Igea Marina is configured.

Not only is it the heart of the town; it’s also the centre of its history. Before being an intervention of redevelopment, the recovery and enhancement of this urban area represents a recovery of the meaning of town. A cultural “heritage” in virtue of its historical centre which is defined and characterized by a substantially unchanged tissue and by customs and ways of life constantly evolving.

The project aims at proposing the identification of some crucial areas through which accomplish coordinated recovery interventions, able to revaluate the urban image and quality of the centre. By analysing the reports of settlement systems, the flows of mobility, computer communications and marketing, Piazza Matteotti, the old fish market ( Vecchia Pescheria) and the parking lot of Piazza Di Vittorio can be identified as the first operational phase of intervention, as they are the three most significant public places.
