New Fish Market

Year 2010

Awarded project within the "Commercial Distribution Planning Service" announcement of the Emilia Romagna region.

The design of the New Fish Market is part of the urban redevelopment project of the entire river channel in the area between the road of via Ravenna and the mouth of the river where the seaport is.

The river channel is entrusted the task of rebuilding the “overall image of the town” that will be structured on the formation axis of the Uso river; the individual projects will then explicit the character of the places. The affected area is located on the right bank of the river, between the railway lines and via Ravenna. The project that has been drafted to redevelop this area tries to put the guidelines of economic and social development into spatial expressions. In this first phase, we’re aiming at establishing a relational pattern whose spaces will be defined during the second step by identifying individual architectures.

The New Fish Market will be placed near the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge, supporting the continuation of the axis of the Natural Shopping Centre. It is an important piece for the relational connection between Bellaria centre and Igea Marina centre.
