Year 2019
Project commissioned by the municipality of Bellaria Igea Marina
Project illustrated at the 12th International INU Study Day Federico II University of Naples 18 December
2020
The project is aimed at developing "Creative Gardens" in the town centre of Bellaria Igea Marina. The
current locations of the Tourism Palace, ex-City Hall and The Astra Cinema are to be restored and used as
places with new functions for various cultural activities. If necessary modification actions of the internal
areas are carried out, the goal is to create a Media Library in the former Tourism palace, a new Town Museum
in the building of the ex-City Hall, and a new public theatre in the former cinema. Here the slogan “Culture
is the centre” is born, through the transformation of the public space for the collective use, able to adapt
and to satisfy various requirements of the citizens in a different way. The Creative Gardens is even more a
cultural project, than an urban one, where the centre of attention is focused on the cultural dimension and
favours the search of talents and their achievements. The culture is perceived as energy giving new energy
sources to the society.
